You dont need to spend 10 years to know, what are the things to avoid. things dont work, things work. if you are a visionary , you have a courage to back your idea's, you have analytical and lateral thinking, proactive, street smart with good english, ready to innovate and try--- Mostly you will be successful and chance to outgrow is higher, compare to exp person as he develops a certain belief , so boundary and comfort zones.
